The Council runs all local, Parliamentary or European elections for the Borough. Full elections are held every four years in May.

Every Vote Counts have worked with people with a learning disability and people who support them to develop easy information about politics, how politics affects people and how to get involved and have a say in how the country is run.

Becoming a Councillor

To be a candidate for an election you must be aged 18 or over. In addition you must also be either on the electoral register, and/or have lived, worked or owned property in the area for at least the past 12 months. Visit our Becoming a Councillor page for full information.

North Warwickshire has 35 elected Councillors who are responsible for agreeing policies about provision of services and how the Council's money is spent. Visit our Local Councillors page to find out who your Councillors is and their contact details.

Electoral Register - registering to vote

Making sure you can vote when the next local, Parliamentary or European elections come along has never been easier thanks to rolling registration. Updates can be made monthly to the current electoral register, so you can apply to register as soon as you move into your new address, instead of waiting until the next annual canvass. Proxy Voting

If you are unable to vote in person, you can apply to vote by proxy (someone else voting on your behalf). You can apply to vote by proxy for a particular election, for a set period of time or for all future elections. Visit our How to Vote by Proxy page for full details.

Postal Vote

You can apply to vote by post at any election. The postal vote can be for a particular election, for a set period or permanently and can be sent to any address you choose to receive it at. Visit our How to Vote by Post page for full details.
