Borough and Parish Council Election and Referendum Results for 5th May 2011
Referendum Result
Residents of North Warwickshire have said NO to the 'alternative vote'. After the referendum took place on Thursday 5th May 2011, the count took place at Coleshill Leisure Centre in Coleshill on Friday 6th May, and the majority of residents voted to say that they do not want to change from the 'first past the post' system.
The final figures are:
The number of ballot papers counted: 21,554
The number of votes cast in favour of YES is:4918
The number of votes cast in favour of NO is: 16509
43.8% of the people eligible to vote in North Warwickshire voted.
