What is Procurement?

Procurement is the process by which works, goods and services are acquired from suppliers.  Procurement is core to achieving the Council's objectives. 

The Procurement Team

The Procurement Team is responsible for co-ordinating and advising on the procurement processes throughout the council and establishing contracts and framework agreements for commonly used works, goods and services.  The team is continually seeking to improve its processes and achieve best value and actively seeks opportunities for joint working with other local governments.  The team also ensures that all procurement practices are carried out in accordance with the council's standing orders and statutory obligations.
