Bus Passes
The English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) provides for free bus travel for older people and people with disabilities.
In Warwickshire the scheme currently allows free travel from 9am Monday to Friday and all day at the weekend and on Bank Holidays, for Warwickshire residents on journeys starting within Warwickshire.

Taxi Vouchers
Taxi vouchers are available instead of your free bus pass if you cannot use buses either because of a disability or because there are no buses that serve your area, and you do not have access to a car. You should receive your vouchers within 10-14 days of receipt of application.

About the taxi voucher scheme?
Travel vouchers amounting to £60 for a single person and £90 for a couple will be available during 2011/12 for residents qualifying as 'vulnerable.' This means residents in North Warwickshire who are elderly or disabled, who do not own or have easy access to a car or a bus route and need to make essential journeys.
The vouchers can be used to pay local taxi company fares or for journeys provided by Beeline, a local scheme run by volunteers, offering transport to and from GP and hospital appointments. You can use the vouchers to pay for taxi journeys to outside of North Warwickshire.
Always make sure the taxi company you are using accepts the vouchers before travelling as not all North Warwickshire taxi firms are part of this scheme.
If you move out of North Warwickshire you will need to enquire at your new local authority about their concessionary travel schemes as you will be unable to use North Warwickshire Taxi Vouchers once you live in a different area.
