Bulky Household Items
Collection Service
Bulky household waste is generally considered to include any item that would be taken in a removal vehicle when moving house. Large items described as a single unit will be counted by their constituent parts e.g. a dining suite will be counted by the number of chairs plus the table and a three-piece suite will count as three items. The current charge for the service is;
- £21.10 for up to six items
- We will collect another 2 items if necessary which will be charged at £3.50 per item
- More than 8 items is classed as a house clearance and is priced job by job. Please ring 01827 715341 to arrange a quote
There are no exemptions to the charge.
Payment for this service must be made in advance and can be paid over the telephone using a debit/credit card.
Bulky household waste will be removed at the appropriate charge within 10 working days of payment being confirmed. Items should be presented for collection at a reasonably accessible point on the property.
In exceptional circumstances arrangements, (e.g. due to the disability of the occupants), may be made to complete collections at specific times or collect items from within the premises. This will only be carried out with the express agreement of the Service Manager.
Metal items of bulky household waste will, whenever possible, be delivered for reprocessing in line with the Authority's commitment to recycling and sustainability.
Other items of waste not included in this scheme such as bathroom suites and more general house clearances may be accommodated by a separate quotation.
