National Planning Policy, Guidance and Legislation
Planning policy, procedures in North Warwickshire are shaped by national policy, guidance and legislation, in addition to the work undertaken sub-regionally and at County level. Planning applications may also be determined with reference to such national items. Links to this policy, guidance and legislation are below.
The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) - this replaced the former Planning Policy Statements and Guidance (PPSs and PPGs) on 27 March 2012.
Planning Practise Guidance - this provides guidance to help local planning authorities support the framework and is published online and regularly updated. County/Sub-Regional
Statutory Legislation - including the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004; and the General Permitted Development Order 1995 (as amended a number of times since then).
