Development Control Practices and Procedures
Introduction to Development Control Practices and Procedures
This page sets out Development Control's Best Practice Notes, our Scheme of Delegation and Standards of Service.
Best Practice Notes
- Practice Note for Handling Amendments to Planning Proposals
- Practice Note for Pre-application Planning Meetings
- Policy for Investigating Unauthorised Development and the Enforcement of Planning Control
- Practice Note for Telecommunications Development
Local Validation Requirements Document
As well as outlining the National Requirements, North Warwickshire's Local Validation Requirements Document sets out the information that Development Control will expect to be submitted with each type of application. These requirements are mandatory if applications are to be validated by the Borough Council.
Scheme of Delegation and Public Speaking
The scheme of delegation enables the Assistant Director (Planning) to undertake certain functions without reporting first to the Council's Planning and Development Board. Where reported to the Board, public speaking is permitted and the Council has a procedural note for this.
Service Standards, Improvement and Performance
The Planning Charter sets out key aspects of how we will deliver the Planning Control Service in North Warwickshire. It will also outline our targets and standards for the handling of planning applications, and dealing with alleged breaches of Planning Control.
