North Warwickshire Local Plan 2006
Local Plan 2006
The North Warwickshire Local Plan was adopted on 4 July 2006 and provides the suite of policies which govern and control development across the Borough, including housing, commercial and industrial property, community facilities and services. It forms an intergral part of the Development Plan to which planning applications are assessed against, and you can view the Local Plan here. You can also view the Inquiry documents here.
Current status of the Local Plan
All but Core Policies 4, 7 and 9 are now saved under Direction from the Secretary of State, and will be replaced as work progresses on the Local Development Framework.
Local Plan Proposals Map and Policies
An interactive Local Plan website is available here. The website includes the full adopted Local Plan text and interactive Proposals Map. There are no Inset Maps shown separately as the information, policy areas and proposals have been incorporated into the interactive Map. Full details of how to use the interactive Local Plan are included via the Help link on the webpage. It is advisable to read these instructions before using the interactive Proposals Map.
The text of the Local Plan can also be downloaded separately in both Microsoft Word and PDF format. Alternatively you may purchase a hard copy of the Local Plan, subject to the Council's fees and charges schedule.
Please note many policy numbers in the Adopted Local Plan altered from prior draft versions. You can view a comparison table which sets out the number of each policy in the modifications version of the Plan and how this has changed in the Adopted Plan.
Structure Plan and Minerals & Waste Saved Policies
The Warwickshire Structure Plan (WaSP) has been largely superseded by the West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy. However, there are a number of saved polices, which can be viewed on the County's planning pages.
In addition, there are also saved policies of the County's Waste Local Plan and Minerals Local Plan, which can also be viewed on the County's planning pages.
