Police discover cannabis at property in town.

Cannabis factory found in Atherstone.

On Sunday 18 December 2011 PC 0382 Leon CARTER and PCSO 6210 Dan HOSKIN attended an address in Atherstone after reports of a "strong smell" coming from the property.

Officers spoke with the occupants and they admitted being cannabis users.  A Sec. 32 search was carried out by officers at the address and a small cannabis factory was found in a rear bedroom.  This consisted of a hydroponics tent, six mature cannabis plants already cut and drying, water system and high powered lights.

Both males were arrested for cultivation of cannabis and taken to Nuneaton custody.  They were interviewed and given a police caution.  All of the equipment used to cultivate cannabis was destroyed along with the drugs themselves.

You can call anonymously to Warwickshire Police or Crime-stoppers on 0800 555 111 if you suspect cannabis is being grown in your area.
