A reminder to complete voter registration forms
North Warwickshire residents are being urged to complete their voter registration forms as a new wave of reminder forms are delivered over the next two weeks.
The Borough Council's Electoral Registration Team sends out the forms every year to compile the electoral register. They started the process earlier this year so that the register of electors is updated in time for the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections on 15th November.
This is the first time that local people have elected a PCC who will be accountable for how crime is tackled in their police force area. PCCs will be set up in each of the 43 police forces in England and Wales and will replace the existing Police Authorities.
As David Harris, Democratic Services Manager said:
" Don't miss out on the chance to vote in the November elections and in the County Council elections next May. Registering to vote is very simple. All you have to do is update the canvass form with the details of everyone in your household who is eligible to vote and return it in the envelope supplied. If you details haven't changed, you can reply using the Freephone number, via text or our website at www.registerbyinternet.com/northwarks. "
There is more information on registering to vote on the Borough Council's website at www.northwarks.gov.uk
