Keep up to date on new Coleshill Leisure Centre developments
Residents across North Warwickshire can now keep up to speed with the new leisure centre for Coleshill by logging onto a dedicated page on the Borough Council's website.
Launched last week, www.northwarks.gov.uk/nlc contains all the latest news and information on the proposed development at the Coleshill School and also includes an online comments and questions form. As soon as the initial designs of the new centre are produced, they will be posted on the webpage too.
As previously reported, the Leisure Centre on Park Road dates back to the 80s and will cost far too much to refurbish. The Borough Council carried out consultation in 2009 and then engaged the services of external consultants, who looked at the feasibility of sites. They identified their preferred and most cost effective option of the Coleshill School.
Simon Powell, Assistant Director: Leisure and Community Development said:
"We are now working with the school to apply for planning consent and external funding support by the end of December 2012. Starting next month we'll be holding a series of roadshows both at Parents' Evenings at the school and for all members of the public at Coleshill Leisure Centre. We hope people will come along and meet representatives of the school and the Borough Council to discuss this exciting new project. "
The public meetings will be held in the 2nd Floor Studio at the Leisure Centre on Wednesday 7th November 3.30-5pm; Tuesday 27th November 5.30-7pm and Thursday 13th December 2-3.30pm.
Dates into 2013 are on the website with more to be confirmed. Residents can also email in at firstname.lastname@example.org
