Meetings
When you arrive at the council offices, please report to our main reception in our One Stop Shop where you will be provided with a visitor badge and details of our fire and safety procedures - see How to get into the Council House. Our reception staff will advise the lead officer or meeting organiser of your attendance who in turn will collect you from the reception area; whilst on site, the lead officer or meeting organiser will be responsible for your welfare.
If your meeting is to be held in Old Bank House, please also report to main reception, as the same procedure will apply. The meeting organiser or lead officer is responsible for escorting visitors to the meeting rooms in Old Bank House.
General Information
If you arrive at the council offices at a time when an emergency situation has occurred, you will not be allowed access to the building and will be unable to make telephone contact until the emergency services have given the 'all clear' and staff have returned to their posts. If you still intend to see a council officer, there are a number of cafes in the near vicinity on Long Street which can be found by turning left outside the gardens adjacent to the council building, where there are also benches situated. The staff on duty outside the main doors will be able to direct you.
