Housing Support Services - other agencies

The Council works in partnership with several agencies who offer support to applicants depending on their individual circumstances. For example, there is support available for young parents, people with financial difficulties, domestic violence sufferers, and for people who misuse drugs.

The Bromford Group

The Bromford group offer a number of support services, these include:

Hadley Mews provides accommodation based support to vulnerable young families between the ages of 16 -29 years. Families can be single parents or a couple with up to 2 children up to school age.

Generic Floating Support Scheme offers support to people over the age of 16 years who live in the Nuneaton, Bedworth or North Warwickshire and Rugby area. The service is for those who need advice and a helping hand maintaining their tenancy whether they rent privately, rent from the local authority, housing association or own their own home.

North Warwickshire Young Families Floating Support scheme offers support to vulnerable young families between the age of 16-25 years who live in the Nuneaton, Bedworth or North Warwickshire area. The service offers the opportunity to gain independent living skills to be able to maintain their tenancy whether they rent privately, rent from the local authority, housing association, or own their own home.


 Citizens Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau provides a service of information, advice and advocacy throughout North Warwickshire, which is flexible and responsive to the needs of the community

Advice is free, confidential, independent, impartial and available to all regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, belief, disability or income level.

Chapter 1 Link-Up project

The Link-Up supported housing hostel provides 8 bed spaces to males aged between 16 and 60 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, with a variety of support needs. Support is offered to equip clients with essential life skills, which will help them to live as independent lives as possible.

Link-Up also provides a Floating Support Service. It is a community based support service for people struggling with things in their lives relating to their tenancies. Criteria: Anyone age 16-60 (male/female/couples/families).

A referral from North Warwickshire Borough Council is required for any of Link-Up's projects.

Swanswell

Swanswell is a support organisation for people with drug and alcohol issues, which operates throughout the West Midlands. They can help you find practical ways of overcoming your difficulties by offering support, advice and information. Swanswell also offers support to anyone over the age of 18 who is affected by another person's alcohol use.

WDVSS (Warwickshire Domestic Violence Support Service)

WDVSS is a voluntary organisation which exists to support those experiencing domestic abuse. They provide a free and confidential service and can support you with:

  • Housing/rehousing
  • Criminal/civil issues (for personal safety)
  • Benefit/money issues
  • Domestic violence & children
  • or just for a chat
