What is the Local Plan for North Warwickshire
Other Development Plan Documents
Development Plan Documents (DPDs) are planning policy documents which make up the Local Plan. They help to guide development within a local planning authority area by setting out the detailed planning policies, which planning officers use to make their decisions on planning applications.
DPDs were introduced as part of the reforms made to the planning system through the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
The Localism Act 2011 and the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 provide the most up-to-date legislation in relation to Local Plans and DPDs
Site Allocations Plan (DPD)
This plan has now been merged with the Core Strategy and Development Management Plan to form a new Local Plan
The purpose of the Site Allocation Plan is to allocate sites for housing, employment and other land uses, and to identify these and other planning designations, such as Open Space, on the Proposals Map. This document allocates sites throughout the Borough. The Site Allocations Plan will identify sites required to meet the strategic objectives set out in the Core Strategy. This consultation follows on from the Strategic Land Availability Assessment produced in 2010 and updated in 2013 and a further "call for sites" in July 2013. We did a further call for sites in 2015 and produced a new Strategic Land Availability Assessment in 2016
We consulted on the draft Pre-Submission version of the Site Allocations Plan from 26th June - 21st August 2014.
The responses received have been summarised and can be seen below.
Gypsy and Traveller Issues and Options Development Plan Document (DPD)
North Warwickshire Borough Council consulted on the Issues and Options Document for its Gypsy and Traveller DPD. This will form part of the Council's Local Development Framework (LDF). The DPD will be a statutory document within the LDF with the purpose of allocating suitable sites for gypsies and travellers in North Warwickshire. The consultation ended on Thursday 23rd August 2012.
Development Management Development Plan Document (DPD)
This plan has now been merged with the Core Strategy and Site Allocations Plan to form a new Local Plan
The consultation ran for a six week period from Thursday 1 October – Thursday 12 November 2015.
The Development Management Plan will build on the Core Strategy and will include more detailed local policies for the management of development. It will provide a detailed set of policies, designed to contribute to achieving the Spatial Strategy and Core Planning Policies set out in the Core Strategy.
