Planning Control Assistant
£ 24,982 - £ 27,041 per annum (pay award pending), plus Essential Car User Allowance
37 hours per week
Temporary Contract to end on or before 31 December 2023
We are looking for someone to join our busy Development Control Service to work as part of a team processing planning applications and other related consents.
You will be an enthusiastic and proactive person, who can handle a caseload of planning applications, appeals and pre application cases. You will have a varied workload but will work mostly on the processing of minor and householder planning applications. You will also be asked to work supportively with the planning enforcement team and you will answer planning telephone and email enquiries as part of the Duty Officer rota system.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience of working in planning control, someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service and be able to work on your own initiative as a member of a small team.
Good information technology skills will be required and previous experience of using Planning, GIS, Land and Property Gazetteer systems are highly desirable.
