Health and Safety Officer

£32,910 - £34,728 per annum (pro rata)
18.5 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Officer to join the Human Resources team at North Warwickshire Borough Council. The post holder will act to ensure the Council is meeting relevant legal and regulatory requirements for Health and Safety.

You will provide a professional and efficient health and safety support service covering areas of health and safety management including policy development, risk assessment, inspections/audits, and investigations for example.

The role will often be demanding and the post-holder needs to be able to juggle competing demands and be self-motivated. Experience of health and safety management and providing advice within a multi-disciplined environment, strong communication skills and project management skills are essential. Experience of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is also essential.

Applicants must hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) and be a Technical Member (Tech IOSH) of The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (or equivalent).
