Leisure Facility - Covid 19 Updates

As we look towards returning to sport and leisure activities we will be announcing details of the latest Covid 19 updates relating to North Warwickshire Sport and Leisure.

General Building:

  • One way systems have been introduced to improve ability to social distance, along with floor marking and signage
  • Additional cleaning measures are in place to ensure your safety
  • Hygiene stations, spray bottles and hand sanitiser are around the building – for hand washing and cleaning along the way
  • Rooms and activities have had capacities reviewed
  • Pre-booking is required and contactless payment is preferred
  • Other measures for specific activities are in place
  • Observe social distancing markers
  • Make yourself aware of the centre safety information displayed and the Covid information point
  • Adhere to one way systems where in place
  • Have your membership card ready to present
  • Stay behind the social distancing screen
  • If payment is required – you can pay via contactless card – up to £45
  • Sanitisation stations are available, for you to maintain personal hygiene


  • Advanced booking only
  • Reduced occupancies are in place
  • Equipment has been spaced for social distancing
  • Separate entrance and exit points have been added where possible
  • Sanitisation stations are in place and additional disinfection sprays are available
  • We encourage all our members to wipe down kit before and after use
  • Additional cleaning and hygiene practices are in place
  • Instructors and staff will be present throughout the day to ensure safety and support


  • Advanced booking only
  • Limited spaces due to social distancing measures
  • Areas have been marked out for your safety
  • Sessions will have limited use of equipment
  • Sanitisation stations are in place and additional disinfection sprays are available
  • Classes will be relocated if required

Swimming – Main pool – General sessions:

Atherstone Leisure Complex

  • Pre-booking will be required
  • Swipe in at the swim door (not at reception)
  • Changing room one way system in place – Enter through group change – exit through main change
  • Turn up ‘beach ready’ with swim costume on under your clothes
  • Spend minimal time in the changing room getting ready
  • Take your belongings on to poolside
  • You must use the pre-swim shower before entering the pool
  • The main pool will initially offer Lane swimming only
  • Lane swimming will have a one way system ‘loop’
  • The lane swimming is to be continuous with no overtaking
  • Toilets will be available with limited numbers in that area of the facility
  • Post swimming – you can leave at any time during the session
  • Changing room numbers will be limited and social distancing is mandatory
  • There may be staggered times that customers may be asked to leave the pool / queueing may be required to adhere to social distancing 
  • Showers will not be available post swimming
  • Cubicles will be available to use
  • There will be spray and wipes for customers to clean surfaces after use in the changing rooms
  • The swim programme will be altered to allow safe entry and exit of changing rooms and for social distancing to take place
