Flats and sheltered schemes

The Borough Council has sheltered schemes for people 60 and over located across the Borough. Some housing associations accept people 55 and over.

Find out how to apply for sheltered accommodation or a flat.

The Schemes are visited by a team of Community Support Officers who visit on a regular, planned basis.

Every tenant living in sheltered schemes has an alarm system in their home. There are pull cords in each room. These are connected to the Borough Care, Community Alarm Service that is staffed, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

All of the sheltered schemes have a community room that is open for use by any sheltered scheme Tenant. Door entry systems have been installed to the majority of the communal rooms to provide extra security and flexibility around opening times. A key fob is provided to enable access to the room.

Any sheltered scheme Tenant with a special request to use the community facilities should contact the Neighbourhood Officer using our Contact Us form below so that the appropriate arrangements can be made.

Extra Care Scheme – Housing & Care 21 operate an extra care scheme in Mancetter, near Atherstone.  Residents enjoy the privacy of their own home – bungalows or apartments – with care services and support on site and a supportive community close at hand.
