Grounds Maintenance - grass, trees, sports pitches

Grass Cutting

The Grounds Maintenance team is responsible for grass cutting in parks, open spaces and sheltered schemes

Grass cutting usually starts in late March early April (weather dependant) and continues throughout the growing season.

For grass cutting or tree enquiries on the A5 please contact Highways England on: Phone: 0300 123 5000 or via Email: info@highwaysengland.co.uk

Gardens

The areas maintained by the team are visited regularly throughout the year to remove weed growth and litter. Pruning will generally take place during the winter months.

Trees

The trees located on Borough land have routine maintenance carried out during the winter. Any emergency situations are dealt with as they occur.

Play Areas

Play areas in recreation fields and parks are regularly visited by the team to ensure that the equipment is safe. The areas are litter picked and the bins emptied.

Sports Pitches

The team also maintains sports pitches on the Borough recreation fields. This includes grass cutting, marking out pitches and the provision of posts for rugby and football pitches. The bowling green in Abbey Green Park, Polesworth is also part of a routine maintenance schedule.
