Are Business Rates payable on all non-domestic properties?

Some non-domestic properties are exempt from business rates; these include:

  • Agricultural land and buildings
  • Places of religious worship
  • Trinity House properties (eg lighthouses)
  • Sewers and accessories
  • Property of drainage authorities
  • Public parks
  • Property used for the disabled
  • Properties occupied by visiting forces
