The LEADER Project is now CLOSED.

LEADER is part of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) and provides funding to micro and small businesses, farmers, foresters, community groups and organisations that are within the LEADER area.

The funding is allocated to projects that support the local rural economy by creating jobs or increasing visitor numbers to the area. Projects must fit into one of the six priorities, which are:

• Increasing farm productivity
• Support for micro and small enterprise including farm diversification
• Rural tourism
• Rural services
• Cultural and heritage activity
• Increasing forestry productivity
