General Election 2017

Polling day is on Thursday 8 June 2017. Polling stations will open at 7am to 10pm. We published the list of candidates on 11 May 2017.

Are you already Registered to Vote? 

Most people will already be registered to vote but if you have recently moved, changed your name or turned 18 you may need to update your details by registering again. Go online to register to vote . If you're not sure if you're registered to vote Ask Us. You must register by Monday 22 May 2017 to vote in the General Election on Thursday 8 June 2017.

Unable to get to the polling station on 8 June 2017

If you are unable to vote in person on polling day, you can apply to vote by post or by proxy (where you appoint someone to vote on your behalf).

Apply for a postal vote - Please note, the deadline to apply to vote by post at the General Election on 8 June 2017 is 5 pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017.

Apply to vote by proxy - Please note, the deadline to apply to vote by proxy at the General Election on 8 June 2017 is 5 pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017.
