We are looking for a person who enjoys rewarding, interesting, and challenging work to join our Community Support control centre team. The work is immensely varied and includes responding to emergencies from vulnerable people via the Council’s Borough Care alarm system, operating and monitoring CCTV cameras, and dealing with council housing repairs out of office hours. If you have a cool head, the ability to act promptly and decisively in a variety of situations, can express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing and have basic PC skills, we want you to join our team.
You will normally work shifts comprising of 12 hour day shifts (8am to 8pm) and 12 hour night shifts (8pm to 8am). The post will be to cover designated shifts and staff absences i.e. holidays, training and sickness etc and will include some weekend and bank holiday working. Flexibility and the ability to occasionally work at short notice is an important element of the post.
Experience of working with people in a “customer services” and/or a “call centre” type environment will be an advantage, but essentially we want people with the right attitude, enthusiasm and commitment who will help us maintain our high quality TSA accredited service. Full training in all aspects of the post will be provided to the successful candidate. A full driving licence as well as Disclosure & Barring Service, police NPPV2 vetting clearance, and an SIA (Public Space) CCTV licence (for which training will be given if not held) are essential requirements of the post.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions. An Enhanced Disclosure will be required.
