- Salary: £37,849 - £39,782 per annum (inclusive of a continuing market supplement payable for the duration of the contract), plus Essential User Car Allowance

Balancing the protection of the countryside with the accommodation of large scale residential and employment development presents an exciting and challenging workload.
We are looking for experienced Principal Officers in our Development Control and Enforcement Teams who can be key contributors to the management of development in the Borough.
You will be responsible for leading the Council’s duties in respect of planning enforcement matters and will have a junior officer under your direction. You will be responsible for the investigation and pursuit of major breaches of planning control and for the monitoring of planning permissions. This will include giving evidence in court prosecutions and at Planning Inquiries, as well as being the Council’s lead officer in Enforcement Hearings. Sound experience of working in a planning control environment, investigatory skills and knowledge of PACE are essential.
This post requires you to hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
