North Warwickshire Borough Council is beginning consultation on the Draft Issues and Options (Regulation 18) stage of the Local Plan Review, and we are inviting your comments
This review builds on earlier work carried out for the Draft Employment Plan Document (considered by the Local Development Framework Sub-Committee on 1 July 2025) and reflects the updated National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), published in December 2024.
At this early formal stage, we are seeking your views on issues and options and potential changes to existing Local Plan policies, as well as ideas for new policies or proposals.
The NPPF requires Strategic Policies to plan for at least 15 years from adoption. We are therefore asking for your views on the most appropriate timescale for the new plan. The consultation also explores options to achieve sustainable development, provide the right infrastructure, and consider a range of housing figures—along with alternative approaches to meeting the Borough’s future needs.

How to get involved
The consultation will run from Friday 28th November 2025 to Friday 16th January 2026.

We encourage residents to view documents and submit comments online where possible, helping us reduce paper and printing resource use as well as officer time inputting responses into a database.
Please note: Some evidence documents may not be available at this stage of the process.
All comments submitted will be publicly available and will be considered as the Local Plan is finalised.
