Graphic promoting North Warwickshire’s new leisure facility opening in Spring 2028, with an illustrated building design and the Heart of Our Community branding.

North Warwickshire Borough Council has launched Heart of Our Community, a new website where residents can follow the development of the Borough’s future leisure facility.

Heart of Our Community gathers updates, timelines, engagement opportunities, answers to common questions and practical details so residents can quickly find what they are looking for.

There is a great deal of interest in the future of the site, especially while the existing Atherstone Leisure Complex and Memorial Hall are closed and construction develops. This website has been created to bring all the most important information together.

Alongside the new website, dedicated Facebook and Instagram channels will share regular updates, stories and milestone moments, making it easier than ever for the community to stay informed and connected throughout the build.

A central hub for the journey ahead

As the project moves into its next exciting phase, Heart of Our Community serves as a central hub where residents can explore what’s happening now and what’s coming next. The website has been designed to make information easy to find, with a friendly, intuitive layout.

Residents can quickly find what information matters most to them, including:

  • A comprehensive FAQs section, guiding residents through practical arrangements during the build such as closures and construction questions
  • Clear project updates, construction milestones and timelines in our News & Plans section
  • Community stories and opportunities to be part of our future on our Get Involved page

Whether someone wants a quick update, answers to a specific question or a deeper look at the future facility, the site offers an easy and reliable way to stay informed.

Shaped by our community

Every aspect of Heart of Our Community, from the tone of voice to the visual design, has been shaped to reflect our community, our heritage and our future. It offers one trusted place to check in on the project, without needing to search across multiple channels.

Why we chose the name Heart of Our Community

The new leisure facility does not yet have its final name. That will be confirmed as the project continues. Heart of Our Community was chosen because it gives us a clear and inclusive way to talk about the development as a whole. It describes both where the centre will sit in Atherstone and the role it will play for people across North Warwickshire. The name reflects the values behind the project which include accessibility, sustainability and community wellbeing.

Share your memories

The website includes a dedicated Share your memories section to celebrate the history, stories and moments connected to Atherstone Leisure Complex and the Memorial Hall, such as first swimming lessons, community events and special family milestones.

Did you get a personal best in the gym? Did you meet someone that’s become a big part of your life? Did you learn something new in one of our groups? Do you remember the early days or the opening of the Memorial Hall or leisure centre? We want to hear from you.

Share your memories to be part of the next step of our story. If you have photos, stories or anecdotes that you want to share, please visit [this page] to do so.

Stay up to date

Follow our dedicated Facebook and Instagram channels for all the latest information. These will share bite sized updates, behind the scenes content, key milestones and community moments, ideal for residents who prefer real time updates on the platforms they already use.
