Join us at Westwood Recreation Ground, Atherstone, on Saturday 27 June 2026 from 11am to 3pm for a free community celebration of Armed Forces Day.
North Warwickshire Borough Council is proud to invite residents, veterans, serving personnel, military families and visitors to join us in celebrating Armed Forces Day 2026 at Westwood Recreation Ground, Atherstone, on Saturday 27 June from 11am to 3pm.
Armed Forces Day provides an opportunity for communities across the country to show their support and appreciation for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, including currently serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and Service families. It marks the culmination of a week of celebrations beginning on Monday 22 June.
This year's event will bring together veterans and the wider local community for a day of recognition, remembrance and celebration. The free community event will feature a range of attractions and activities suitable for all ages, including:
-
Bouncy castles and fairground rides
-
Community and information stalls
-
Food and drink vendors
-
Live music and entertainment throughout the day
-
Opportunities to meet local veterans and Armed Forces organisations
Visitors will also have the chance to learn more about the support available to veterans living in North Warwickshire. Representatives from the borough's two Veteran Hubs will be attending to promote local services, offer advice and connect veterans with support networks within the community.
The Council is delighted to welcome representatives from the Lord-Lieutenant's Office, including Martin Jelley, who will be visiting the event. The Deputy Mayor of Atherstone will also be in attendance and will deliver a speech at 12 noon, recognising the contribution and sacrifice made by members of the Armed Forces community.
