North Warwickshire councillors invite residents and groups to apply for funding for local projects that boost wellbeing, strengthen communities and support events or equipment.
Community groups, voluntary organisations and residents across North Warwickshire Borough Council are being encouraged to share their ideas for projects that will strengthen local communities through the Councillors’ Local Community Fund.
The Fund has been created to support small-scale, community-focused initiatives that improve wellbeing, bring people together and help neighbourhoods thrive.
Each Councillor has funding available to allocate to projects within their ward and is keen to hear from local groups with ideas that could make a positive difference in their community.
The Fund can support a wide range of activities and projects, including:
• One-off events that benefit the local community and support community resilience
• Capital items such as equipment and materials
• New projects and activities that require start-up funding
Even a small amount of funding can make a significant impact, helping local organisations turn ideas into reality and create lasting benefits for residents.
Leader of the Council, Councillor David Wright said.
“The Councillors’ Local Community Fund is a fantastic opportunity to support the local groups, volunteers and organisations that make such a difference across North Warwickshire.
We know that even small amounts of funding can have a big impact — whether that’s helping launch a new activity, bringing residents together through community events, or providing equipment that benefits local people.
I would encourage anyone with an idea that could improve their neighbourhood or support community wellbeing to speak to their Ward councillor and find out how this fund could help.”
Councillors are encouraging anyone with a project idea that could support their local area to get in touch with their Ward councillor to discuss their proposal and explore available funding opportunities. Examples of some of the grants already issued this year include supporting events such as St George’s Day and Stute Fest, supporting days out and equipment for local community groups from bingo machines to horses.
