North Warwickshire Borough Council has been recognised as one of the West Midlands’ strongest local authorities for paying supplier promptly, with 99.11% of invoices paid within 30 days in 2025/26.

The findings, published as part of independent research examining payment performance across councils in the West Midlands, highlight the Council's continued commitment to supporting businesses and organisations.

Prompt payment plays a crucial role in helping businesses, particularly small and medium-sized establishments, manage cash flow, pay employees and suppliers on time, and invest in future growth. By ensuring invoices are processed efficiently and payments are made without unnecessary delay, the Council is helping to provide stability and confidence for suppliers.

North Warwickshire Borough Council works closely with businesses that deliver a wide range of services for residents and communities. Maintaining strong payment performance helps build positive relationships with suppliers while supporting the wider local economy.

The recognition comes at a time when payment practices across the public sector are under increasing scrutiny, reinforcing the importance of strong financial management and a commitment to supporting local enterprise.

Councillor Caroline Symonds, Chair of the Resources Board, said:

"We know how important prompt payment is to businesses and organisations. Ensuring suppliers are paid on time helps support jobs, growth and investment across North Warwickshire.

"We are delighted to see our strong performance recognised. This achievement reflects the dedication of our finance team and the wider teams within the Council, whose continued focus ensures we provide an efficient, reliable service to our suppliers while supporting the wider local economy."
