Temporary footpath closure in the Coleshill area
Published on Wednesday, 7th February 2018
As part of preparation work ahead of the construction of High Speed 2 (HS2), we need to move several underground gas pipelines in the Coleshill area.
The pipelines are an important supply for Birmingham and the West Midlands and we need to carry out these diversions to continue to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply to the area during HS2’s construction and operation.
This work will be carried out by Cadent, who own the pipeline, on behalf of HS2 Ltd. To allow Cadent to safely carry out this work we will need to temporarily close the foot and cycle path that runs from the
A446 Lichfield Road between Bromwich Court and IAC Group.
During the scheduled closure, a diversion foot and cycle path diversion will be in place via the Lichfield Road footpath and Gorsey Lane.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience that may be caused but thank you for your patience and cooperation while we carry out this essential work.
We’ll be carrying out this work between 12 February 2018 and 9 March 2018. During this time, we will need to temporarily close the footpath for the safety of the public and our engineers.
