North Warwickshire will again be in the global sporting spotlight this summer when the world’s top women cyclists gather for the Warwickshire Stage of the Ovo Energy Women’s Tour.
The attention of the cycling world will be on Atherstone on Friday 15 June 2018 when stage three of the Women’s tour starts in the town.
The riders will set off from Atherstone’s Market Square then make their way through Ridge Lane, Birchley Heath, Church End, Ansley, New Arley and Fillongley before leaving the borough to race through Warwickshire to the stage finishing-line in Royal Leamington Spa.
The race and its spectators always bring a great lift in profile, as well as an economic boost, to North Warwickshire and preparations are well underway to offer the warmest of welcomes to the cyclists and all associated visitors for the event.
There will be a number of ways that residents can get involved with preparations so please keep an eye on www.northwarks.gov.uk/wt2018 for more exciting news and information as we head towards a summer of cycling.
