Funding available from HS2

Published on Thursday, 13th September 2018

Funding opportunities are available as a result of HS2 coming through North Warwickshire.

Applications are sought from organisations such as Parish Councils, residents associations, schools, community groups and charities (organisations established for public benefit and not for profit).

Despite the route having a high impact on North Warwickshire, fewer applications have been made than elsewhere along the HS2 route.  The Council wants to make sure that local communities take full advantage of this valuable opportunity.

The £40 million funds have the aim of offsetting the disruption of the construction of Phase One of HS2.  Launched in February 2017, they are available through two funding programmes, the Community and Environment Fund (CEF) & the Business and Local Economy Fund (BLEF)

‘CEF Local’ grants are for smaller projects (up to a maximum of £75,000 per project) and ‘CEF Strategic’ grants are for larger projects (from £75,000 up to a maximum of £1 million per project).  BLEF is for short term kick-starter projects (£10,000 - £75,000) and longer-term development interventions for local economies (£75,000 - £1 million).

If you have project ideas, perhaps for community activities, training, skills and job developments or landscape and environment improvements, the CEF and BLEF funds could help you realise your ambitions.
