Ediblelinks won the award for Excellence in Innovation for the partnership between the Healthy Living Network, Ocardo, North Warwickshire Borough Council and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
Ediblelinks is a foodhub model that supports both people in emergency need but also supports over 50 local schools and 150 Not for Profit Groups in providing free food and support to help deliver targeted help and support across the whole borough and beyond in a groundbreaking partnership with Ocado, the online supermarket based at Birch Coppice, Dordon.
The work undertaken by North Warwickshire Borough Council along with its partners has again been recognised nationally as being some of the very best in the country. At an awards night hosted by the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation, the professional body that supports 354 Councils nationwide held at the Telford International Centre at the end of its annual conference on Wednesday 10 October 2018, the Council was the most successful organisation on the night recognising its very high performance levels and initiatives that are helping all customers pay their Council Tax, Business Rates and Rent.
We were also highly commended in;
- Exellence in Business Rates as a Council - recognising our very high performance in terms of collection, rates that were the second highest in the country of 99.91%, and support of businesses
- The Northern Warwickshire Financial Inclusion Partnership coordinated with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and other third sector agency partners recognising our work in supporting individuals either impacted by welfare reforms or to maximise their income
