Polesworth Housing Development Refused

North Warwickshire Borough Council has welcomed a recent planning appeal decision whereby a Planning Inspector has refused a proposal by Taylor-Wimpey to build up to 150 houses on land south of the B5000 in Polesworth.
Jeff Brown, Head of Development Control said, “This decision fully supports the Council’s objective of retaining open land between Tamworth, Polesworth and Dordon.”
The Inspector concluded that the development would result in a major reduction in that space to the extent that it would no longer be “meaningful” and thus that the rural identity of Polesworth and Dordon would be weakened. The Inspector did not consider that there were any benefits arising from the proposal that would outweigh this conclusion.
