Partnership working to keep residents in the village they love
This year North Warwickshire Borough Council have worked in partnership with Warwickshire Rural Housing Association to help them purchase 2 x 2 bed bungalows in Corley for local residents to rent.
Paul Roberts, Housing Strategy & Development Officer for North Warwickshire Borough Council met up with Derek Dyas, Chair for Warwickshire Rural Housing Association to welcome Mr & Mrs Pears to their new home. Mr & Mrs Pears had lived in Corley previously and were starting to have health issues and needed to move to smaller and more affordable accommodation, but try and stay within the village that they were familiar with and were overjoyed that they were approved for the bungalow by Warwickshire Rural Housing Association.
Mr Pears stated that they are feeling very settled and that they now feel part of the community that they had missed and hope to have many happy years within their new home.
This week marks Rural Housing Week which runs from 1st July – 7th July and this is a great way of marking how wonderful things can be achieved when looking at housing within rural communities.
