Longstanding issue with trespassers comes to a much welcomed end
On Friday 5th July, the High Court in Birmingham approved North Warwickshire Borough Council’s application for an Injunction to prohibit future occupation of the Borough Council’s Recreation Ground in Old Arley by trespassers.
This comes as much welcomed news for Council who have a longstanding problem with trespassers at this site regularly inhabiting the reaction ground despite preventative landscape works being carried out. The site has been occupied in each of the last three years.
Councillor Margaret Bell, Chair of the Community and Environment Board, said, “I’m delighted by this news which means our land is now protected from unauthorised access and can be used, without disruption, for its purpose - an area of play and recreation for our residents.”
Copies of the Injunction will be fixed at the entrance of the site and can viewed here: www.northwarks.gov.uk/downloads/file/8140/injunction_-_arley_recreation_ground
The Injunction is for 3 years and expires on 4th July 2022.
