Temporary Road Closure - Long Street and Old Watling Street, Atherstone

Temporary closure of Long Street and Old Watling Street, Atherstone starting on the 23rd September 2019.
Warwickshire County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order closing Long Street & Old Watling Street, Atherstone, between the junctions of Station Street, A5 and the intersection of Merevale Road and Old Watling Street, to vehicular traffic. The closure is required for footway reconstruction and associated works, 9.30 - 15.30 weekdays only.
The Order will commence on 23 September 2019 and will last for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27 September 2019.
Pedestrian access to and egress from properties and land situated adjacent to the length of road to be closed will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained where possible.
An alternative route will be signed and is available via: Old Watling Street, A5, Watling Street, Witherley Road, Long Street, Woolpack Way, South Street, Station Street and vice versa.
Vehicles under 7.5t are able to access the one-way route on Long Street.
