Kingsbury Road Railhead Site update - change to plans for use of the site
Published on Wednesday, 23rd October 2019
Kingsbury Road Railhead Site will no longer be used as a railhead
We can confirm that following further design work by HS2 main works contractors, Kingsbury Road Railhead Site will no longer be used as a railhead and will instead be used to locate a main works construction compound. The compound will be used for engineering, planning and construction delivery activities, as well as an office base for staff.
This change is due to the latest stage of design work for the new railway, where specification for the rail track system was changed.
The land area used will fall within the limits of land acquired or used (LLAU), meaning the compound will not be larger than the site which was originally planned. HS2 consider that the changes are permissible under the existing Act.
