Closure Order on property in Atherstone town Centre

On the 29th October 2019 Officers from the Housing Division and Legal Team of North Warwickshire Borough Council attended The Justice Centre at Nuneaton to seek from the Magistrates a Closure Order on 21 St Benedicts Close, Atherstone.
After reading the evidence gathered from members of the community, the Police and the Housing team the Magistrates agreed that the occupant had engaged in disorderly, offensive and criminal behaviour including the use and supply of illegal drugs at the premises and the use of the premises was a serious nuisance to the local community and members of the public.
The Closure Order was granted under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and the property was closed on the same day bringing immediate relief and respite to the Community.
The Housing Team would like to thank the community and the Police for working together and assisting in resolving the problem.
The premises will be closed for three months, this means that no person aside from the Police and the Council can enter the property.
