Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died
Leader of the Council, Cllr David Wright, reflected on the sorrow that will be felt across the Borough; “The thoughts of North Warwickshire Borough Council and our residents are with the Royal Family as they grieve for their Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.”
This evening, the flag at Buckingham Palace was lowered to half-mast and a notice was posted on the gates to mark the Queen’s death. The flag at the Borough Council offices has also been lowered to half-mast.
Her Majesty leaves an incredible legacy as the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch, the longest-serving female head of state in history, the longest-reigning monarch, and the oldest and longest-serving incumbent head of state.
As a nation, we now enter a period of mourning.
