Agreement has been reached with a local businessman to develop the former public conveniences on Station Street, Atherstone.
The Council is pleased to announce that, following an invitation for potential partners to come forward with their proposals for the site, agreement has been reached with a local businessman to develop the former public conveniences on Station Street Atherstone and bring them back in to use for the local community. Plans for the building include a takeaway counter and servery for refreshments as well as publicly accessible toilets. It is hoped that the new facility will be up and running by next Spring at the latest.
The Leader of the Council, Councillor David Wright said “I am delighted that we have been able to deliver on our plan to work with the private sector to bring this building back into community use along with improved, accessible toilet provision for the public. I am sure that this will be a real asset to the town and I look forward to its formal opening in the New Year.”
