This page carries a list of current consultations on key planning applications and strategic planning documents drafted by the Council.

Site Allocations Plan (DPD)

North Warwickshire Borough Council recently consulted on the Preferred Options (with some Issues and Options) version of its Site Allocations Plan. The consultation opened on Thursday 28 February and closed on Thursday 23rd May 2013.

The purpose of the Site Allocation Plan is to allocate sites for housing, employment and other land uses, and to identify these and other planning designations, such as Open Space, on the Proposals Map. This document allocates sites throughout the Borough. The Site Allocations Plan will identify sites required to meet the strategic objectives set out in the Core Strategy.

All comments received will contribute towards the production of the final document that will be submitted for independent examination prior to adoption.

A spreadsheet showing all sites submitted to the Council can be viewed.  This shows the reasons as to whether they are our Preferred Options, Reasonable Alternatives or whether they are considered to be unsustainable options

• Wednesday 15th May - Warton Parish Rooms (3:00-6:00pm)

Austrey Parish Council Neighbourhood Designation

Austrey Parish Council has applied to North Warwickshire Borough Council for designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area under Part 2 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. The consultation and supporting documents can be viewed here.

Fillongley Parish Council Neighbourhood Designation

Fillongley Parish Council has applied to North Warwickshire Borough Council for designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area under Part 2 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. The consultation and supporting documents can be viewed here.

Sub-Regional Green Infrastructure Study

Warwickshire County Council are consulting on a sub-regional Green Infrastructure Study.  The consultation is open until 22nd April 2013 and can be found at http://askwarks.wordpress.com/2013/02/18/sub-regional-green-infrastructure-strategy/.

Recent consultations

Pre-submission Core Strategy (DPD) 

The Borough Council agreed its submission version of the Core Strategy in autumn 2012. Prior to submitting the document to Government there was one final consultation period. The Core Strategy will form part of the Borough Council's emerging Local Plan (formerly known as the Local Development Framework) and when adopted will replace, in part, the North Warwickshire Local Plan 2006.

North Warwickshire Borough Council's Core Strategy was submitted to the Secretary of State on Thursday 28th February 2013 for examination. Details of the examination in public, normally by way on a public inquiry, will be added in due course

Issues and Options for Development Management Development Plan Document (DPD)

The Issues and Options Document for its Development Management DPD. This will inform part of the Council's Local Development Framework (LDF). The resulting DPD will be a statutory document within the LDF and will build on the Core Strategy. It will provide a detailed set of policies for the management of development, designed to contribute to achieving the Spatial Strategy and Core Planning Policies set out in the Core Strategy.

Issues and Options for Gypsy and Travellers Development Plan Document (DPD)

The Issues and Options Document for its Gypsy and Traveller DPD will inform part of the Council's Local Development Framework (LDF). The resulting DPD will be a statutory document within the LDF with the purpose of allocating suitable sites for gypsies and travellers in North Warwickshire.
