Smoke-Free Play Areas

No Smoking Play Area

Smoke-Free Play Areas in North Warwickshire

We are hoping to raise awareness that all of our enclosed play areas are smoke-free to protect the health of children and residents from the dangers of second-hand smoke.

This is part of smokefree places which supports the national and local ambition to create a smokefree generation. More information is available - smokefreecw.co.uk.

Design A Sign

We are inviting local children to take part in a competition, to design a Smoke-Free sign for their local play area, with the two winning designs for each area* being printed and displayed on site!

The signs will be specific to the Ward Areas, for example the message in Atherstone would be ‘Support Atherstone to be Smoke Free’. Your local Ward Members will pick their favorite design to be created into a sign.

*The nine areas are: Atherstone, Grendon, Wood End, Austrey, Mancetter, Hurley, Dordon, Polesworth and Piccadilly.

If you'd like to enter the competition please design you sign on white A4 paper (portrait or landscape) and ensure it is bright, bold and colourful. Include your name, age, which area your local play area is in and a parent or guardian's contact phone number or email address.

The deadline for entering the competition is Monday 31st March, entries can be dropped in the post box at North Warwickshire Borough Council, Atherstone or emailed to communities@northwarks.gov.uk

If you have any questions or need further detail, please do not hesitate to contact us.
