What is a complaint?

What is a complaint

A complaint is defined as an expression of dissatisfaction about the standard of service, actions or lack of action but the Council, our employees, or those acting on its behalf, affecting an individual resident or group of residents.”

Requests for Service

A Request for Service is different to a complaint – these could include a missed bin collection or an unmown grass verge.

Expression of Dissatisfaction

You may wish to contact the Council to tell us you are unhappy with something but do not want to make a formal complaint, in such cases you can make an Expression of Dissatisfaction. If the issue raised is serious this will be handled as a formal complaint. These are still an important way for us to learn and improve our services.
