Race Day
Friday 5 September 2025
Stage 4: Atherstone to Burton Dassett Hills Country Park
The UK’s biggest professional cycling event, the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men, is returning to Warwickshire this September, with the route travelling through all five district and boroughs of the county.
To ensure the safety of riders and spectators, Warwickshire County Council has issued a Special Events Order affecting several roads across the county. This includes full road closures, rolling road closures and the imposing of no waiting or loading zones.
To help you plan your visit, take a look at the details of the route, and the times that we expect the cyclists to pass by near you.
On the day
There’s nothing quite like the thrill of watching the Lloyds Tour of Britain up close, and we’d love to see you lining the route. The riders pass by very fast, so to help everyone enjoy the day safely, there’s a few things to note:
- There will be an advance vehicle 15 minutes ahead of the race, keeping you updated with what is happening, including when you can expect the race to pass through.
- The race itself is escorted along the route by trained police officers and escort motorcyclists. If you’re asked to stop by an officer, please listen carefully and obey their instructions.
- Stay back away from the edge of the road and remember that turning your back on the race is never a good idea – please always face the ongoing riders and race convoy.
- Keep flags, objects and photography equipment out of the road, and any animals on a short lead, well away from the roadside.
Full Road Closures
These roads will be completely closed to traffic on the 5 September:
Atherstone
Long Street, Ratcliffe Street, North Street (between Sheepy Road and Ratcliffe Street), Market Street, Church Street, Sheepy Road (between Croft Road and North Street)
- Closed from 00:01
- Closed until 16:00 (however these roads will reopen as soon as it can be done safely)
Please note that although a road closure notice is in place, we expect Witherley Road and North Street (from Ratcliffe Street) will remain accessible until the race starts.
If your car is parked on any of the listed roads or car parks below on Friday 5th September after 4:00am it will be towed to MG Evans Carpark, located near Atherstone Train Station.

- Sheepy Road car park
- Atherstone Leisure Complex car park
