At the Community and Environment Board meeting on Wednesday, 4th June 2025, Councillors were given details about the proposal to enter into a long-term lease with two local sports clubs.
Atherstone Rangers will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the pitches and pavilion at Mancetter Recreation Ground. The Council are also proposing to enter into a long-term lease with Haunchwood Junior Sports Club, who will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the pitches at Old Arley Recreation Ground.
The lease proposals will be taken to Resources Board in July 2025 to determine whether or not the long-term leases will be granted.
Councillor Margaret Bell, Chair of Community and Environment Board, said:

These partnerships represent a fantastic opportunity to strengthen community engagement and enhance sporting facilities for residents across Mancetter, Arley, and the surrounding local areas.”
