NWBC Councillors have been recently informed of positive progress made towards projects funded by the UKSPF and the REPF at the Executive Board meeting on the 10th of June 2025.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) was established as a central pillar of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda and a significant component of its support for places across the UK. It provided £2.6 billion of new funding for local investment by March 2025, with all areas of the UK receiving an allocation from the Fund via a funding formula, rather than a competition.

North Warwickshire was allocated £1.965m of funding across the three years to be administered and managed by the Council as the “lead local authority” across three Investment Priorities: Community and Place, Supporting Local Business, and People and Skills.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund has successfully funded numerous projects for multiple categories that sit under the Council’s Investment Priorities, such as £54,423 to the Central Polesworth Improvement Plan, £2,500 to Community Bookshop Repairs, and £7,558 to Cost of Living training sessions.

You can read the full list of UKSPF-funded projects by visiting Page 56 of the Executive Board report.

A celebration event was held in October 2024, bringing together the organisations, businesses, community groups and individuals who had benefited from the funding. The event was well attended and a testament to the difference the funding made within North Warwickshire.

In addition to the UKSPF allocation, North Warwickshire was also awarded an additional allocation of £495,639 through the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).

The REPF was only available to spend from April 2023 to March 2025 on capital spend with the interventions of “Community and Place” or “Supporting Local Business”, as follows:

2023 / 2024: £280,000

2024 / 2025: £215,639

17 projects were funded through REPF.

Through the Rural England Prosperity Fund, significant improvements have been made to improve the accessibility and security of local green spaces.  It has improved gates, installed K-Barriers and enabled the installation of more inclusive play equipment.

Leader of the Council, Councillor David Wright, said:

“I am pleased to see the meaningful progress being achieved by projects across North Warwickshire through support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Rural England Prosperity Fund. This investment reinforces our commitment to enhancing local facilities and services for residents across the Borough.”
