Eligible households are being urged to check their electricity bills to ensure they are named as the account holder in order to automatically receive the government’s Warm Home Discount this winter.
To qualify, residents must be listed as the named person on their electricity bill by Sunday 24th August 2025.
The Warm Home Discount is a one-off payment of £150 to help with energy costs during the colder months. It is applied directly to eligible customers’ electricity accounts between October and March.
Being correctly named on the bill is essential to ensure automatic qualification. If the account is under a different name, or details are incorrect, households risk missing out on the payment.
Residents are encouraged to contact their electricity supplier as soon as possible if they need to update or change the name on the bill.
