With just 14 days until North Warwickshire welcomes the 2025 Lloyds Tour of Britain Men’s cycle race, plans are well underway for an exhilarating day in the borough.
Stage Four of the race will take place on Friday 5th September, with the route travelling through all five districts and boroughs of the County. This exciting stage will begin in Atherstone and end with a spectacular hilltop finish at Burton Dassett Hills Country Park. From the start in Atherstone, the route will take in Hartshill, Ansley, Shustoke, Maxstoke and Fillongley.
On the day in Atherstone Market Square, you will be able to join in with:
• The build-up to the race,
• See the teams arrive,
• Receive a free health check,
• Watch the action live on a big screen,
• Enter our best photo competition.
Whether you want to see the world’s top cyclists in your local area or enjoy the thrill of a major international sporting event, this is an unmissable chance to get involved.
A major event of this scale does mean there will be some disruption to ensure that the race is safe for riders and spectators. There will be rolling road closures on most of the 116-mile route, with fixed road closures limited to the start and finish.
Details of full road closures can be found here: Plan your Visit
Leader of the Council, Councillor David Wright, said:
“Preparations are well underway, and we are all excited for what promises to be another memorable edition of the Men’s Tour. We are honoured to be hosting the start of this major stage of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men here in Atherstone and are hoping as many people as possible will come and support the riders on the day. I know our communities along the route will be out in force to show an international audience what our borough has to offer.”
