We need your recommendations for a new Community Orchard!
Are you passionate about sustainability, community engagement, and the beauty of nature? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently accepting applications for the upcoming 2024/25 planting season, and we are seeking your recommendations for the development of a vibrant community orchard.
Why Community Orchards Matter
Community orchards play a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability, food security, and community cohesion. They provide a source of fresh, locally grown produce, create green spaces for residents to enjoy, and serve as educational resources for people of all ages. By actively participating in the planning and development of a community orchard, you can make a meaningful impact on your local environment and help foster a sense of community pride and ownership.
How You Can Get Involved
We are inviting individuals, community groups, schools, and businesses to submit their recommendations for the design and implementation of our upcoming community orchard project. Whether you have a green thumb, a passion for sustainable living, or a creative vision for a thriving orchard, we want to hear from you!
If you can think of an area of land that would be perfect for an orchard, please contact Warwickshire County Council's Nature Capital Team at naturalcapital@warwickshire.gov.uk with the subject title ‘Community Orchard Project’ and they will send you a link to the application form.
Get your ideas in while there is still a chance!
